An extensive study of mountain gorillas offers valuable insights into how social relationships work and how group size and gender influence this dynamic. The research, conducted by the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, in collaboration with the universities of Zurich and Exeter, follows the health data of 164 gorillas over a period of 20 years in the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Interesting patterns were uncovered that are not only relevant to gorillas, but also for human social relationships.
