Gelsenkirchen (AP) – FC Schalke 04 has signed defender Andreas Vindheim, as the second division soccer team announced.
The 26-year-old Norwegian from Sparta Prague signed a loan agreement dated to the end of the current season, which includes an option to buy. With the transfer, the fourth in the table closes the gap on the right wing, which was created by the injury of Mehmet Aydin.
Vindheim, who trained at SK Brann Bergen, won the Swedish championship with Malmö FF in 2016 and 2017. In 2019 he moved to the Czech club Sparta Prague, with whom he took part in the Europa League this season and was used three times. On November 18, 2020, Vindheim made his debut for the Norwegian national team against Austria.
