Change of coach pays off

The 1. FC Magdeburg has experienced a debacle in the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga. The previous third of the table conceded the relegation -threatened Prussian Münster completely surprisingly, but deserves a 0: 5 (0: 3). Jorrit Hendrix (12th), Marc Lorenz (15th, 43./Foulelfmeter), Joshua Mees (52nd), Daniel Kyerewaa (55th) scored 26,800 spectators for the guests who only presented a new coaching team for the rest of the season on Monday. Due to the highest home defeat in the 2nd Bundesliga, the FCM slipped from the relegation place to fourth place, while Münster climbed to 16th place. For Prussia it was the highest victory in second division history.
Münster mercilessly exploited Magdeburg’s shortcomings in defense and converted his first chances into a 2-0 lead. Magdeburg then seemed unsettled, defensively had little access and no ideas in the attack. When Magdeburg worked into the game, Lorenz increased by foul penalty. Magdeburg remained uninspired even after the change of sides – Münster increased width, punished every Magdeburg error.
Award win at Schalke 04: SC Paderborn for the time being third
The SC Paderborn presented in the promotion race and increased the pressure on the competition. Due to the 2: 0 (1: 0) at FC Schalke 04, the Paderborns moved to the relegation place at least temporarily. The deficit to the last stumbling second in the table Hamburger SV, which will start at SV Darmstadt on Saturday, is only one point.
