FC turns game in Paderborn

The 1. FC Köln emerged on Saturday as the winner from the top duel of the 27th match day of the 2nd Bundesliga and held SC Paderborn with a 2-1 win in the table at a distance. Due to the three against the East Westphalia, the Domstadt also pushed the Hamburg SV off the top again. In the direct meeting of the pursuers from Hanover and Magdeburg, however, there was no winner, both teams missed the jump past the SCP with a goalless draw. Hertha BSC cheered for the second time in a row: thanks to a double pack by Fabian Reese and a late hit by Luca Schuler, Stefan Leitl’s team beat Karlsruher SC 3-1.

In front of 15,000 spectators in the sold -out Paderborn Arena, Marvin Mehlem (34th) put the hosts in the lead. An own goal by Felix Götze (42nd) ensured the equalization before Denis Huseinbasic (61.) turned the game. With 50 points, the FC leads the table with a point ahead, Paderborn under Lukas Kwasniok with 45 points initially remains on the relegation place.

After initial scanning, the hosts initially took command, but remained too imprecise with their chances. Zero number: No winner in the chasing duel between 96 and FCM

Hannover 96 and 1st FC Magdeburg separated goalless in the chasing duel of the 2nd Bundesliga. The 0: 0 teams in the promotion struggle only helped a little. Both are on par with 43 points each. By defeating SC Paderborn (45) against the new table leader 1. FC Köln (50), they shortened the gap to the promotion relegation place to two points.
Overall, the draw in the attractive game was performance -based. Magdeburg had more possession of the ball in phases, but the hosts had the better quality chances. Hanover is still unbeaten in the second half of the season, the Magdeburgers remain the best away team in the league.

Torgiart Reese has brought Hertha for the first home win since October

Thanks to an outstanding Fabian Reese, Hertha BSC won the first home game since October and got more air in the relegation battle of the second Bundesliga. The team of coach Stefan Leitl celebrated the second league triangle in a row at 3-1 (1-0) against the Karlsruher SC, but had to worry to the end.

Fabian Reese scored the first two goals for the capital club (16th and 47th minute) in front of a big backdrop with 63,612 spectators in the Olympic Stadium in the Olympic Stadium.
