2. Bundesliga: 1. FC Kaiserslautern wins at Arminia Bielefeld

Down against climbers in a duel

Bundesliga relegated Arminia Bielefeld also lost against 1. FC Kaiserslautern and is still deep in the crisis. Coach Daniel Scherning’s team lost 2-3 (0-0) to the newly promoted team in a gripping Saturday evening game in the 2nd Bundesliga, despite good morale. Philipp Klement in the 54th minute, Aaron Opoku (57th) and Daniel Hanslik (88th) scored the goals for the guests from the Palatinate, who played in the majority after Bielefeld’s Bryan Lasme was sent off in the second half. Robin Hack had meanwhile equalized for hard-fought Bielefeld with a brace (60th/74th/penalty kick).

Kaiserslautern moved up to seventh place in the table with 23 points. Bielefeld, on the other hand, remains last with eleven points. Arminia has lost five of the last six league games.
In front of 24,651 spectators on the Bielefelder Alm, both teams played a fast-paced game. However, the hosts suffered a setback in the 44th minute: Lasme saw a yellow-red card after an unlucky game against Boris Tomiak.
