Loris flew solo to sea as a 16-year-old during his training, and from the age of 17 he can now officially fly alone and take passengers with him. “It worked. I had to do exercises for two hours straight. It went well and I passed. Now I can actually fly alone and also take passengers with me.”

Club record

Loris can now call herself the youngest pilot of the flying club. And there is also another club record to his name, because the pace at which Loris obtained his license is quite impressive. Piet Vandevelde, Head of Training Kortrijk Flying Club: “It takes most people two or three years. So in the case of Loris, that is of course exceptionally short. You also have to take into account that he did that during the winter period, when we can fly very little anyway. So he only started in September, and to have already finished it, that is really spectacular.”

Loris can now plan plenty of trips. But not by car, because he doesn’t have a driver’s license yet.
