43 Drenthe projects in the field of culture and nature management will jointly receive more than 163,000 euros from the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund. The fund distributes cultural funds four times a year. This is the first funding round of this year.
The projects that can claim the fund are all initiatives of foundations and associations of amateurs and volunteers.
The Bake Shop Foundation in Erica receives a total of 13,500 euros in subsidy. That is the largest contribution from the funds. The subsidy is, among other things, for organizing the festival Drentsch Peil XL where musical talent can show itself. But the subsidies are also for other activities of the volunteer organization that is committed to the development of Drenthe pop acts.
Another major contribution goes to the project The new good. This initiative of the Institute for Art and Culture Foundation will receive a total of 12,500 euros for a project in which makers can experiment with different art forms. Artists can visit various theaters on days when they are empty, to further develop themselves or their production and possibly collaborate with each other. According to the culture fund, this concerns art forms such as music, dance, theater and spoken word. De Tamboer in Hoogeveen and the ATLAS Theater in Emmen, among others, are participating in the project.
It Tynaarlo Orchestra in Zuidlaren and the Graveland Festival in Hollandscheveld are two other initiatives that receive a subsidy of 8,000 euros or more. Tynaarlo Orchestra is organized by music association Erica in Zuidlaren. The Graveland Festival is a dark metal event at the end of May, organized by Stichting Cultuurfabriek Noord.
Another project that the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund highlights is, among others Summertime around the composer Louis Henri Somer. This month and in September the Chamber Orchestra Somer will give a number of concerts in Assen, Meppel and Veenhuizen. The Somer Foundation receives 5,000 euros.
2,000 euros is available for an art project about the history of the church of Bunne. The Crossover K Foundation is working on the project Dreaming about the Commandery and Chapel of the Knightly Teutonic Order in Bunne. In the past, the church of Bunne was part of a monastery of considerable size.
In addition, more than 2,000 euros is available for children’s activities in Museum Vosbergen in Eelde Paterswolde. With a large collection of musical instruments, the museum explicitly wants to introduce children to music, concerts and musical instruments and has various activities planned for the October children’s month.
