15 years after FC Bayern change: Jose Sosa from Fenerbahce to Estudiantes

Comes from Fenerbahce

José Sosa is returning to his roots: 15 years after the Argentinian midfielder joined FC Bayern Munich for €9 million, he will be playing for his youth club Club Estudiantes de La Plata again. It is the second return after the German record champions had loaned him there in 2009/10 for match practice.

The now 37-year-old Sosa has signed with Estudiantes until December 2024. He comes from Fenerbahce, for whom he has made 62 appearances (four goals/four assists) in the past two seasons, but was unable to secure a regular place last year, especially in the final stages. In Turkey, he also played successfully for Trabzonspor and Besiktas, which he led to the championship in 2016 with strong performances. Sosa has also worked in Europe for SSC Napoli and AC Milan in Italy, Metalist Kharkiv in Ukraine and Atlético Madrid in Spain. He was also champion with the “Colchoneros” and also won the cup with Trabzonspor.
