1,400 tourists evacuated from Machu Picchu because strike action is blocking train: 900 people still stuck in IncaSdad

Around 1,400 tourists were evacuated from the Machu Picchu area in the night from Monday to Tuesday. That is what the Peruvian tourism minister said to radio station ‘RPP’. He also said that about 900 tourists are stuck on the World Heritage site due to the strike action. How many foreigners are among the tourists and where they come from is unclear.
