125 meter jump on the Alex! Now the high-flyer awaits an ad

Nine months after his life-threatening climbing action on the Atrium Tower at Potsdamer Platz, the British extreme athlete Georg King-Thompson (23) has again made the capital unsafe with a daring action.

On Sunday he parachuted from the 125 meter high Park Inn Hotel am Alex!

When the police arrived shortly after 10 a.m. because of the illegal action, King-Thompson had already disappeared. He speaks of the “biggest and best stunt” that Berlin has ever seen. He didn’t have a political message this time.

He practiced for two months by jumping from wind turbines in the surrounding area. The aim was to land on the roof of the Galeria Kaufhof without getting tangled up in the overhead tram lines on the Alex.

Unnoticed by security forces, King-Thompson got onto the roof of the hotel and the door was said to be open. He escaped via a fire escape from the department store. Police officers from the Alex station later searched for him in vain. He didn’t want to upset the police with the action, King-Thompson assures: “On the contrary, I have great respect for their work.”

She has now written two ads for trespassing and property damage. Maximum sentence of one or two years.
