A motorist crashed Friday night on the Grensweg in Budel, opposite the fire station. The driver hit a lamppost on the right side of the road. He then swerved to the left, where he hit another post. People nearby saw a man get out of the car and drive away. Another man stopped next to the wreckage, holding a bottle of booze. He was treated under protest by paramedics.
Residents of a house on Grootschoterweg, about 150 meters away, then reported that they found a heavily bleeding man in their bathtub. He was treated in the living room and taken to a hospital in Tilburg. Police are investigating the crash and the identity of the men.
