A Feyenoord supporter from Oud Gastel has been arrested for his part in the assault of a fellow fan in Feyenoord stadium De Kuip. On July 24, the Rotterdam club played a friendly match against Olympique Lyon. According to the police, a 21-year-old man from Groningen walked around in FC Groningen sports shorts ‘due to circumstances’. He was there with his 16-year-old brother.

Seven men, including the man from Oud Gastel, saw the Groningen pants and assaulted him. They hit and pushed the man, causing the victim to fall hard between the seats of the grandstand. One of the suspects took off the man’s sports shorts and took them with him. The Groninger reported all this. The seven men were arrested in September and October, including the fan from Oud Gastel. However, the police only announced the arrests this Wednesday.
