112 news: fierce fire in two houses • pursuit ends in crash

A fierce fire raged in two houses and in a few sheds on the Wilgenstraat in Megen last night. The fire caused a lot of smoke for a long time, causing a lot of damage to the houses. The fire started around a quarter to two at the back of one of the houses, after which the flames quickly spread.

The residents of the two houses were at home when the fire broke out, they managed to get out safely themselves. No one was injured. Two fire trucks, a water truck and a cherry picker were called in to bring the fire under control. Several police units also arrived on the scene.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and is still under investigation.
