At 11 am the participants started to change clothes and prepare. A little later a joint warm-up followed, at which the Easter service was also present.
The starting shot followed after a group photo. 100 polar bears entered the North Sea at the same time, including the Bruges polar bears and the ships of Sport and Tourism Bert de Brabandere. He hasn’t missed a single edition yet. A fresh west wind of 5-6 Beaufort, a wind chill of 8°C and a water temperature of 10°C did not stop the participants.
After the dive, participants could warm up again and enjoy mulled wine, waffles, gin shots and fresh sandwiches. Then it was the turn of the first surfers and kite surfers who also opened their season with a strong wind and a radiant sun.
