Germany is going to invest 100 billion euros extra in the army this year. Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this on Sunday during an scheduled meeting of the German parliament. Scholz wants to structurally spend 2 percent of the domestic product on defense, a major change of course compared to recent years.
