10-year-old Louro is mayor of Bruges for one day

From November 28 to January 9, 2023, anyone who wanted to could make a wish for the New Year in the ‘Wishtree Forest’ on the Burg. The wish was put in a plastic Christmas ball and hung on a wishing tree.

Louro’s wish is now becoming reality. He may follow in the footsteps of current mayor Dirk De fauw for one day.

Mayor’s duties

A mayor’s day always looks different. Mayor De fauw takes Louro to some appointments that are scheduled for today. For example, they walk through the renovated Zuidzandstraat, and hand out cycling diplomas for adults.
