An estimated one in five women (18.9 percent) and one in seven men (14.8 percent) are the victim of sexual violence before they are eighteen years old worldwide. Those figures have remained largely unchanged since 1990. This is according to a study from the University of Washington in Seattle that is published in The Lancet.
