Thanks to a furious 4-0 win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern, the 1. FC Köln made the return to the 1st Bundesliga on the last matchday of the recently ended second division season. Also included: Tim Lemperle, who made very negative headlines in the previous days. Now the offensive player has commented on the events.

On May 12th, headlines shot into the herb, Tim Lemperle from 1. FC Köln had been involved in a fight, suffered several injuries and was taken to the hospital. A guess that the club then confirmed.

The situation did not necessarily defuse that numerous pictures were circulating on the net that showed the 23-year-old, apparently not inconsiderably alcoholic when celebrating.

However, Cologne coach Friedhelm Funkel demonstratively put on the services of the wing striker and explained: “He knows that he made a mistake, he also showed a lot of regrets.”

Sometimes Lemperle also showed Lemperle in a contribution in the social networks: “After this turbulent week, I would also like to comment on my situation. First of all, I would like to apologize for my unprofessional behavior,” opened Lemperle to FC fans.

“I’m so sorry”

And further: “As a professional footballer and believer, I did not pay enough attention to my role model function. I was not aware of the unrest before such an important game as against Lautern. I am so sorry and I know that I disappointed many of you through my behavior.”

However, Lemperle also has something to do: “But I would also like to make it clear that I have been attacked and that many media statements do not correspond to the truth.”

“A big thank you goes to my team, which gave me a lot of support and showed such a strong performance against Lautern. I am grateful that I was part of this team,” concludes Lemperle, who will no longer play for 1. FC Köln in the coming season.
