Trio around President Wolf

The 1. FC Köln is facing an exciting general meeting in autumn. The current management trio around President Werner Wolf with his deputies Carsten Wettich and Eckhard Sauren will not run for another term after more than five years. The club management informed the members in a board post. The exact date for the meeting has not yet been determined. “From preliminary talks with the member council, we have gained the realization that he will not suggest us as a trio for another term and therefore did not officially enter the selection process,” the statement said.
This withdrawal cannot be understood as very voluntary. “We would like to communicate openly that we would have been ready to continue the path of recent years,” emphasized the club tour. It is therefore not excluded that individuals from the current board of directors come together in a new constellation. This could also lead to martial candidates.
“For this reason, in very open and constructive conversations, we agreed that it is open to every member of the current board to run again in another constellation for the office of the board,” said the club. One continues to be convinced of the course to consolidate FC financially and structurally and to systematically develop it on this stable foundation. Apparently the current leadership is ensuring that a new board could leave the austerity course.
