With her third win of the season, Franziska Preuss won the small crystal ball in the sprint and comes closer to the targeted triumph in the overall World Cup.

The 31-year-old prevailed at the World Cup final on the Holmenkollen thanks to the flawless shooting and a great duration with a two-tenth second ahead of competitor Lou JeanMonnot. The lead in the struggle for the large crystal ball on the French is growing in two outstanding races from 20 to 35 points.

With two quick and flawless shooting series, the sprint vice world champion, which went into the competition with start number 42. But the JeanMonnot, who started three minutes later, also kept the nerve at the stand, so that after 7.5 kilometers a blink of an eye decided.

With her twelfth podium of the World Cup winter, Preuss secured discipline rating in the sprint, it is her second small crystal ball after the mass start World Cup in the 2014/15 season.

Grotian falls past the points

Selina Grotian (1/+2: 11.5) had fallen on the first round and, with a place beyond the points, lost the ground in the U23 rating. Sophia Schneider (1/+1: 21.8) and Julia Tannheimer (1/+1: 29.0) showed ordinary races.

At the weekend there are still 180 points in the fight for the overall World Cup. The hunting race on Saturday (3:50 p.m.) is followed by the mass start on Sunday (1:15 p.m./each ARD and Eurosport) before going into the eight -month World Cup break.

In the persecution World Cup, Preuss has only theoretical chances at 79 points behind JeanMonnot, while the small ball in the mass start is tangible in 41 points ahead of Elvira Öberg.
