Antoinette Rijpma-De Jong has become European all-round champion for the fourth time in a row. The 29-year-old skater retained enough of her lead in the final 5000 meters in Thialf to just stay ahead of Joy Beune, the Dutch and world all-round champion. The distance victory went to the Norwegian Ragne Wiklund in 6.50.81, who took the bronze ahead of Merel Conijn. Conijn set the second fastest time in the final distance with 6.52.43.
