The match between Ajax and FC Groningen was stopped after five minutes. Referee Bas Nijhuis sent both teams to the changing rooms after supporters of the hard core of the home team from Amsterdam had set off a lot of fireworks. They commemorated a deceased supporter.
At the beginning of this month, a home match between Ajax and SC Heerenveen was also interrupted because fans of Ajax’s F-Side set off a lot of fireworks. Also then they commemorated a supporter who had died.
