Zwollenaar who stabbed his friend Ronny to death in Epe must go to jail for years | Epe

Is Krzysztof R. (30) from Zwolle a repeat offender? Yes, according to the court in Zutphen. The man who stabbed Wilco Viets of the Putten murder case in 2017 was convicted today of causing the massacre in Epe in which 51-year-old Ronny Bron died at the end of May.

As if his death wasn’t tragic enough already, he also turned out to regard R. as a comrade. And vice versa. The two will have a barbecue together at Bron’s house on Saturday evening, May 28. After the meat gives way to alcohol and drugs, things eventually go horribly wrong.

That only becomes clear a day and a half later. On May 30, 2022 at 3:56 p.m., a call comes in from the Brons house at the Pandersakker at the control room. Krzysztof R. is on the other end of the line. “I killed someone,” he confesses.

When officers enter Bron’s blood-stained home shortly afterwards, they find him lifeless on the couch. R. is arrested and he confirms once again that he is the perpetrator. It later becomes clear that he killed his mate with 32 stab wounds.

He was unable to answer the why question three weeks ago during a well-attended session in Zutphen. “I am very sorry about what happened. Ronny was a friend. I don’t know if I’m guilty anymore. If so, I’m very sorry.”

Putten murder case

In court, R. heard a prison sentence of twelve years and TBS with compulsory treatment against him. The prosecutor also wants him to serve the remaining 680 days of a previous conviction. Because he attacked Wilco Viets in 2017, the man who, together with his brother-in-law Herman du Bois, was unjustly imprisoned for seven years in the Putten murder case, he was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison. Krzysztof R. was released early on the condition that he would not use alcohol and drugs. The prosecution blames him for doing so anyway.

Today it became clear that the court almost completely agrees with her. R. received ten years on Friday afternoon and TBS with compulsory treatment. On top of the prison sentence, he must pay more than 32,000 in damages to the surviving relatives of Bron. They gave him a face in court. Because the Epenaar had not lived in the area for very long, he seemed to lead a rather lonely existence. But during the session, the image of everyone’s friend almost emerged. It was precisely this that was fatal to him.
