Thanks for your answer.
Interesting that it is less about the real “core quality” of the referees than more about things influenced by the environment. Real does real things and in England they seem to simply overdo the VAR (since you have written above all).

But how would you assess the “basic skills” of the Spanish and British referees? Duel evaluation, sensitivity, communication on the pitch.
In the BL we had everything with us this season. Karazor, who sees yellow-red (already warned), stamps off-road references to a fouled player (Arnold (already warned)) over questionable penalty or non-vertically and so on and so on.

I Spain I look primarily at Barca and Real and these are certainly the most difficult for the referees but when I see how often control over the game is lost relatively early, at least I would not say the referees are better than in the Bundesliga. In any case, the number of wrong decisions does not seem less.

I still like the Premier League better in terms of duel evaluation, etc., but my subjective feeling has approached the Bundesliga (and probably also other leagues in Central Europe?) In the past few years. No idea whether it is due to the specifications regarding the rule interpretation of the UEFA or because the team owners and league want to protect the expensive players, but in the meantime a lot of whistle is being kicked out that would have been through the “English hardness”.

One of the main discussion points in the Bundesliga, the handball rule, is no less controversial abroad. I also found a good example here the penalty at PSG Arsenal whistled against Lewis -Skelly. The English co-comment at Paramount+ claims that this is never penalty in the Premier League, but that is exactly what is now also controlled by the variety and rated as a penalty as in the Bundesliga.

If someone says the German referees are worse than the English I would not contradict. But compared to Spain and other countries, I don’t think the Bundesliga cuts off worse. I think that there will be massive cliffs and nepotism within the referee system, as is the case everywhere in the DFB. But here, too, I don’t think this is better in other countries, there are also large sports associations there as with us.
