Zwanenburg business premises damaged after suspected arson car

A company building was also severely damaged in a car fire in Zwanenburg last night. The car was parked in front of a company in the Kerkhoflaan and burned out completely around 3:00 am. Police suspect arson.

The fire in the car broke out around 3 a.m., after which the fire brigade was called to extinguish the vehicle. At that moment, the flames were already so high from the car that the windows of the business premises jumped and the facade suffered considerable soot damage. “The fire brigade quickly had the situation under control,” said a police spokesman.

A reporter on scene saw firefighters having to smash the window of the front door to let smoke out of the business premises.

Neighborhood survey

It is still unclear how the fire started, but the police do not rule out that the fire was started. Therefore, research is currently underway. In addition to possible witnesses, the police are also looking for clues. “We are conducting forensic investigations,” said the spokesman.

The windowless frames of the company have now been covered with wooden plates. As far as is known, no one was in the building at the time of the fire. The company could not yet be reached for comment.
