Zverev had previously announced on Friday that he would not play in the Davis Cup first round game in Rio de Janeiro on June 4th/5th. March starts. “I’m sad to miss the Davis Cup preliminary round in Brazil. Unfortunately, with two upcoming Masters tournaments on another continent and surface, the place and time don’t fit into my tournament schedule,” said Zverev in a statement.
