Could Alexander Zverev and Boris Becker form a German Dream team on the tennis tour? Andrea Petkovic generally has a clear opinion with regard to this question.

The combination of Alexander Zverev and Boris Becker “very good” for them, Andrea Petkovic told “Sky”. However, the 37-year-old restricted: “In theory and on paper, things can sound very good, but if the two personalities cannot do each other, it is something completely different.”

With regard to Zverev and Becker, the former top ten player would generally be confident.

“I think Boris Sascha could help a lot. I also believe that they are in contact. I know that they are in contact and that there is great communication and there is already a certain relationship between the two,” reveals Petkovic.

“You also have to take risks”

At the same time, however, the TV expert recalled that players and coaches in tennis spend “almost twelve hours” every day. A team ultimately has to try to form, said Petkovic.

“In theory everything sounds great and if you put it into practice, you don’t know,” said the 37-year-old, who said in terms of Zverev and Becker: “I think you just have to try it out, why not?

Zverev and Becker have been loosely associated with each other in the past, and there has been no cooperation. The German number one is currently in the crisis, recently surprisingly lost to Arthur Fils from France in Miami’s round of 16.

Becker worked as a coach of tennis superstar Novak Djokovic from 2013 and 2016. The six-time Grand Slam champion has been a TV expert for many years.
