Milano, 10 Apr. (askanews) – It is an overwhelming song that made history, Zucchero “Sugar” Fornaciari celebrates 25 years of his hit Baila with a remastered version, available in Italian, English and Spanish. “Well, very important obviously, it came at a time no one expected.”

After a long gestation Baila has turned into a hymn of joy and fun. “For two or three years it remained there, because I couldn’t develop it, to do the verse, the bridge, to think how to do it in my style, because there was no rhythm, then as often happens to me, after two or three years I took it back out, I heard it and suddenly the verse, the bridge and everything came, and the world I wanted to create”.
Zucchero celebrates his hit but instead chose to quietly celebrate his 70th birthday.
“I’m not a good communicator, I say it, I’m a bit old-fashioned, I’m sorry, but it’s like that and consequently I don’t like to take advantage of moments. Birthdays in our family of Emilian origins from Bassa have never been so important, nor name days, nor saints, God forbid, nor birthdays, you know, celebrations.
