Zoff at Bayern? Benjamin Pavard irritates with frustration

In terms of sport, FC Bayern is doing well again after the surprising phase of weakness in the autumn, but behind the scenes things are simmering. Not all professionals are satisfied with their role with the record champions. World champion Benjamin Pavard in particular is frustrated.

After Benjamin Pavard was always an integral part of the starting eleven in FC Bayern’s first games, the Frenchman recently moved into the second rank.

Both against FC Barcelona and against FSV Mainz 05, the defender had to be satisfied with the joker role.

This resulted in a frustrated exit on Saturday after the Bundesliga game. The 26-year-old rushed past the waiting journalists without a word and immediately disappeared from the stadium.

Already at 5:43 p.m., less than half an hour after the final whistle, Pavard was loud “sky” fled the arena.

FC Bayern: These are the reasons for Benjamin Pavard’s frustration

According to the TV station, there are several reasons for Pavard’s frustration.

On the one hand, the Frenchman is said to be disappointed that he is not being used in his desired position in central defence.

Already last season, the 26-year-old expressed his wish to play in the defensive headquarters in the future. So far, however, this request has not been answered.

According to “Sky”, coach Julian Nagelsmann has not yet “conclusively explained” to the world champion why he was only a reservist in the last two competitive games and why newcomer Noussair Mazraoui was preferred. Pavard should also be angry about that.

FC Bayern is putting contract talks with Pavard on hold

The Frenchman’s frustration hadn’t subsided even the day after the game against Mainz.

During Sunday training, he is said to have only trained with the handbrake on and was again the first player to disappear into the dressing room.

Nagelsmann reacted “visibly irritated” to this departure, reports “Sky”.

It is not clear whether this behavior will have consequences for the Frenchman. According to media reports, however, it is clear that FC Bayern and Pavard will not sit down at the table for the time being to talk about extending the contract that expires in 2024.

Above all, Pavard initially wants to wait and see how things develop in the coming weeks and months.
