KYIV (dpa-AFX) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has expressed satisfaction with the progress of talks in the USA on a peace solution to the war in Ukraine. “Work on the documents on ending the war, on security guarantees and reconstruction continues – every point is being discussed in detail,” he said in his evening video address. The cooperation with the US representatives is constructive. “This is important,” emphasized Zelensky.

A schedule will also be discussed at the negotiations in Miami, Florida. “About the possible time frame for certain decisions,” Zelenskyj specified. He is awaiting the report from his negotiating team.

With a view to the increasing Russian attacks on the southern Ukrainian region of Odessa and the ports there, Zelensky accused Russia of showing no willingness to end the war. “Everyone must see that Russia is not prepared to truly end its aggression without pressure. The pressure must be increased,” he said. The increased Russian attacks in the region with combat drones and ballistic missiles have killed numerous people in the last few days and caused significant damage to the port facilities. It is clear that Moscow is trying to block Ukraine’s access to sea logistics./cha/DP/he
