Hamburg (dpa-AfX)-The SPD of Mayor Peter Tschentscher clearly won the citizens’ choice in Hamburg after a ZDF “trend” despite losses. There is therefore a close race between the CDU and the Greens around second place, with the Christian Democrats just ahead. The left and AfD follow behind it.
Because the right to vote in Hamburg is relatively complex, the first extrapolation will not exist until 7 p.m., according to the ZDF. The broadcaster therefore published a “trend” after the usual 18 o’clock forecast. This is based solely on surveys of opinion researchers, not yet on first list results.
According to the ZDF figures from 6:26 p.m., the SPD slips to 34.3 percent (2020: 39.2 percent). The Greens with the top candidate and second mayor Katharina Fegebank come to 19.8 percent and thus also lose their record result of 2020 (24.2 percent). The CDU of top candidate Dennis Thering, on the other hand, can increase significantly after its historical low five years ago (11.2 percent) and is now 20 percent.
The left increases to 11.5 percent (2020: 9.1 percent). The AfD improves to 7.2 percent (2020: 5.3 percent), but is not even half as strong in Hamburg as at the federal level.
According to the ZDF “trend”, other parties do not make it into the state parliament. The Volt party significantly takes 3.0 percent (2020: 1.3 percent), but remains below the five percent hurdle. The FDP (2020: 4.97 percent) and the Sahra Wagenknecht alliance were not listed separately according to ZDF information because they are both below 3 percent./CSD/DP/HE
