ME presents the Zahn release gigs for the “Purpur” album on February 20th & 21st, 2026 in Hamburg & Berlin.
The Berlin trio will play two release concerts in February 2026. On February 20th, Zahn will perform at the Hamburger Betty, followed one day later, on February 21st, at the Neue Zukunft in Berlin.
The gigs frame the release of their third studio album “Purpur”, which will be released on February 20, 2026 via Crazysane Records. Tickets for the shows presented by MUSIKEXPRESS are now available from 17.90 euros.
The next stage of development
Zahn formed as a trio in Berlin and released their self-titled debut album in 2021. From the beginning, the band established an independent sound that combines elements of Krautrock with experimental instrumental rock. The debut laid the foundation for their characteristic sound language: driving, intense and atmospherically dense.
With their second album “Adria”, which was released in 2023, the group further developed their sound. The release cemented their reputation as a band not afraid to explore new creative territories.
The EP “Page E” was also released this year, which can be seen as a bridge to the upcoming album “Purpur”. And this upcoming third LP should be able to reveal the next stage of development from Zahn.
Who is actually behind it?
The trio is made up of three experienced musicians from the Berlin scene: bassist Chris Breuer once played with Heads. and was formerly a member of The Ocean Collective. Drummer Nic Stockmann is also known from the Heads. environment and was previously active with Eisenväter. Guitarist Felix Gebhard has a history with Muff Potter and has worked as a live musician for Einstreiche Neuhäusern and Tocotronic.
Despite their fame from other projects, the three musicians with Zahn pursue an independent artistic path that stands out from their previous bands.
New single “Solex” as an LP foretaste
As a precursor to the album, the band released the single “Solex”. The accompanying video was shot by N. Hildebrandt and gives an insight into the sonic world of “Purpur”. Check it out here:
