JJ, alias ‘Zaadje’, the former president of the notorious student association Reuzegom, has recently started working as a doctoral student at Ghent University. The university confirms this to the editors of HLN. The twenty-something was convicted three months ago of the accidental manslaughter and inhumane treatment of Sanda Dia. UGent rector Rik Van de Walle defends the recruitment: “If people do have criticism, I will understand that. Conversely, I also ask them to understand the basic principles on which the rule of law is based.”
