Yvonne Coldeweijer is causing disappointment across the media with her unprofessional behavior at Talpa. TV critic Victor Vlam also tackles her again. “It’s a huge disappointment.”

There was already suspicion when Yvonne Coldeweijer signed with Talpa – after years of kicking the media establishment, she suddenly entered John de Mol’s stable of stars – but now that she has ruined her TV opportunity, many people have really turned away from the fallen juice queen. TV critic Victor Vlam tackles her for the second time.

Huge letdown

Victor finds it embarrassing that Yvonne has worked for eight months (!) on a half-hour juice column on Net5, which John de Mol is now pulling the plug on because there is no way to work with her. Because of Yvonne’s attitude, two editors have already resigned, including Eric de Munck, who is not inferior to her in terms of falsity.

Unprecedented, says the TV expert. He says in the podcast Victor Indicates TV: “I have to admit that I think the loss for Yvonne is really huge, really huge.”

Extremely difficult

Launching a TV project with Yvonne is difficult anyway, according to Victor. “There was of course already some suspicion about working with her because of her juice history. She has also worked at the desk of RTL Boulevard and I have also heard from people that it has led to internal complaints at RTL from RTL presenters.”

Why then? “They didn’t think it was okay that she was given a platform. Probably people who were victims of her. Working with her is therefore already very sensitive and on top of that, she now appears to be extremely difficult to work with. In the eight months of developing this program, she has lost two editors.”

Problematic

Ultimately, Yvonne never made an episode of The Juice Show. “That is of course really very problematic. I have a suspicion that there will not be anyone who wants to work with her anytime soon. Then you have to deal with the end of Yvonne Coldeweijer’s TV career before it has properly started.”

John now seems to want to continue with a different face, but according to Victor that is impossible. “I think the program already had a small chance of success and if Yvonne Coldeweijer leaves, then it has a small chance of success at all. Of course, no big name is going to get into this sinking ship.”

Not so smart

No one will want to follow in Yvonne’s footsteps, he thinks. “If you are a big name, you are of course not going to commit to Yvonne Coldeweijer’s former program, because why would you? That’s just not that smart. So what do you get: a number of stars who might be very eager but cannot carry the programme.”

The eve of Net5 is the black hole of the Media Park, so you really need appealing names to attract an audience. “And C-stars can’t do that. I don’t think it has a chance of success, but at Talpa they have already largely incurred the costs, so you better put it on the channel, they apparently think.”
