Yvon Jaspers on TV without farmers after twenty years: ‘Immediately a flop’

How does Yvon Jaspers actually score on television if she is not flanked by farmers? Very sad, reports ratings authority Tina Nijkamp. “She is not a ratings magnet at all.”

Yvon Jaspers always appears childish in Boerzoekt Vrouw, but years ago we all saw in Jeroen Pauw’s talk show what kind of a shrew that woman can be in real life. She never got over that me-myself-and-I act while sitting across the table from the parents of a murdered girl.

Without farmers

In fact, Yvon has not been a crowd favorite for years and that is evident now that she is suddenly frolicking on the screen without belching. Last night her new program Kook Van Jou started on NPO 1 at seven o’clock, in which Yvon travels through the country to cook with people who receive help from the Food Bank. Yvon then arrives with the shopping bag.

Viewing authority Tina Nijkamp reveals how many people watched. “Also a very exciting viewing morning for Yvon Jaspers. For the first time in 20 (!!!) years (with the exception of one season of Hello Goodbye), she presents a program without farmers or the theme of farmers,” she writes on her analysis channel.

No magnet

How do viewers think about that? “Well, not very interesting. Yvon turns out not to be a ratings magnet at all because Kook Van Jou has gotten off to a very poor start. Only 488 thousand viewers at 7 p.m. on NPO 1 and loses to both Kassa with Amber Kortzorg on NPO 2 (685 thousand) and to Airen with Lachen om Homevideos on SBS 6 (489 thousand),” says Tina.

RTL Boulevard also scored much better with 834 thousand viewers. “This is extremely painful for Yvon. Especially to lose to Amber, who was in that slot on NPO 1 with Kassa for years. In fact, Yvon’s image never recovered after the ForFarmers scandal and the talk show appearance at Pauw in 2019.”

Mol wins, and Rob?

The season opener of Wie is de Mol was the big viewing figure winner last night with 2.8 million viewers on NPO 1, followed by MolTalk (970 thousand), Weet Ik Veel (970 thousand) and The Tribute: Battle of the Bands (847 thousand). And how did Rob Kemps score with his program about Elvis Presley?

Better than expected, but quite old, according to Tina. She points to the meager market share of 11.5 percent in the target group of SBS 6. But in the totals, Rob scored ‘simply fine’ with 788 thousand viewers. And that is a bright spot for the fallen presenter in the run-up to the expiration of his TV contract…
