Yvanka de Reus wins silver at NK construction carpentry

Yvanka de Reus (18) from Grootschermer came second today at the NK construction carpentry at Skills Heroes. It was therefore not possible to extend her championship from last year. This afternoon the national professional competitions were held for MBO students who excel in their education.

Also this edition, Yvanka was the only girl in the construction carpentry part, she said earlier that she felt there nothing attracts. During qualifying she already beat eight guys and today she had seven guys against her. She finished second and takes home silver. She didn’t know in advance whether she would be first again. “But I do hope for a podium,” she said beforehand. In any case, we succeeded.

Yvanka is in her final year of carpentry training at Horizon College/ESPEQ in Heerhugowaard. More than 700 other students showed their talents today at the championships, which took place in the Amsterdam Rai. Other students from North Holland also won prizes in other components. Sam Strijbis from Dirkshorn won gold in the sanitary and heating technician category.
