Yungblud releases “Idols Pt. II”: 7 new songs including “Zombie” with the Smashing Pumpkins – the personal conclusion to the album.
Almost eight months after the first part, Yungblud is expanding his album “Idols” with seven more tracks. “Idols Pt. II” will be released digitally on February 20, 2026, completing the work that the artist launched with part one in June 2025.
He announced the LP expansion via his social media channels on February 18th – accompanied by a particularly personal message to his fans.
“I am real”
In an Instagram post, Yungblud explained what is behind the project. His words leave little room for interpretation: “Part 1 was a journey that helped me reclaim my identity from the darkest period of my life. Part 2 is about realizing that I am alive, that I am real, that this journey I was on didn’t kill me.”
The second part is therefore not a mere addition, but rather the continuation of a personal work-up – a conclusion, not an appendix.
Calm sound, divided reactions
With “Idols” Yungblud had already taken a new musical direction last summer. The indie rocker, who recently attracted attention with his Grammy-winning version of “Changes” in the “Best Rock Performance” category, presented a much calmer sound on the first part than on his previous releases. The audience reacted dividedly: While part of the fan base welcomed the development, the change in style was met with criticism elsewhere.
What can you hear on “Idols Pt. II”?
In addition to the lead single “Suburban Requiem”, for which Yungblud already showed a short teaser in his Instagram post, the second part contains six more new songs. The focus is particularly on “Zombie” – a collaboration track with the Smashing Pumpkins, which was already released as a standalone single and attracted attention even before the album dropped. Vinyl, CD and sold out arenas
The full album – “Idols Pt. I” and “Pt. II” together – will also be released on vinyl and CD with a newly designed cover. In parallel, Yungblud is launching an arena tour of the UK in April 2026, which is already completely sold out. Several festival appearances in Germany have also been confirmed for the summer of 2026.
