Ozzy Osbourne was his “Nordstern”: Yungblud remembers Osbourne’s best advice.
Yungblud sees Ozzy Osbourne as a mentor and role model. The most important advice that the young rock artist received from the Black Sabbath front was easy. “The most beautiful thing he ever said was: never go compromises. You will understand it later,” said Yungblud.

Crazy, explosive and yet soul -related
And not only that: Yungblud and Osbourne would also have got on so well because they were very similar, said Yungblud in the “Wild Ride!” Podcast with Steve-O. “And when I had talked to Sharon, she said that he saw a bit of himself in me, not because we were doing the same music, but because we are both a little crazy,” said the Brit. Osbourne had an understanding of his explosive nature.
A friendship full of inspiration
Yungblud had previously commented on his intimate friendship with Osbourne. Among other things, he told “NME” that Osbourne was a personality in his life, which was reflected in everything he had through.

The hope of a place in this world
He was always a lot and was considered crazy by people. “I was always perceived as a little loud. But while some people found this negative, Ozzy gave me hope that there is a place for someone like me in the world,” said Yungblud to “NME”. Osbourne inspired him at a young age. That had strengthened when he got to know Osbourne personally. “The biggest enemy of every artist or even of everything is the sentence: This is how it is done. That is an excuse.”
Yungbluds “Nordstern”
According to “NME”, Yungblud Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne had met personally in 2022. Previously, he had asked her daughter Kelly Osbourne to play in his music video for “The Funeral”. Even on tour, Kelly Osbourne established the connection to her parents, who finally performed personally in the video.
Yungblud, who described Osbourne as his “Nordstern”, had performed with Osbourne as part of the “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert shortly before his death.
Tribute at the MTV Video Music Awards
At the MTV Video Music Awards on September 7, Yungblud and Joe Perry from Aerosmith and Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme paid tribute to the late rock artist in a tribute concert.
