The museum project in the former barracks of Ypres should be open to the public by 2030. That project has revolved around international conflicts since 1945 and military vehicles will play a central role in it. The artillery piece is an M110A2 model and its restoration is being done by volunteers.
Between 1972 and 1992, Belgium had 11 of these models. The Belgian M110s were deployed by the 20th Artillery Regiment in Werl (West Germany) and each received its own name.
