The restaurant Bisubisoun, which opened in Kalasatama, Helsinki, began charging a separate fee for its window tables, as the race for these tables was very unfortunate for the staff.
– There was barking and shouting the staff. Asked for special treatment for various reasons, restaurateur Maiju Åstedt tells you.
According to Åstedt, after the restaurant’s opening ceremony, some of the customers demanded to get a window table from the restaurant, even though it could not be arranged.
The restaurant is located on the 24th floor of the Kalasatama Horizon Tower House, which overlooks Helsinki.
If the window table was not free, you could rise.
According to Åsted, he and the other restaurateur of the restaurant Teemu Aura They would not have wanted to put a booking fee on the window table, but they saw it as a solution to avoid repeated difficult and heavy situations for staff.
“Everything can be seen out”
According to Åstedt, surprisingly many of Bisoubisou’s customers, before introducing the booking fee, felt that he was just entitled to get a special treatment, that is, to get the table he wanted.
If it was not free, the staff heard their glory many times.
“But you don’t belong to anyone’s normal work day that someone is screaming and deeply angry,” says Åstedt.
– Twice older man has shouted that I have ruined the whole evening. And this has happened before it even got to the table.
“We couldn’t wait for this,” Åstedt says with a look.
– The situation is absurd in the sense that you can see out all the tables of the restaurants!

Solved the problem
“The window table fee solved the problem that those loudest regrets of their minds can book a table when they want,” says Åstedt.
Åstedt says he has read comments from Somme, some of which want bankruptcy to the restaurant. He is sorry, surprised and amazed at such comments.
The additional fee beside the window is 20 euros for lunch and 50 euros for dinner. The fee is part of the club.
A two -course lunch costs € 34 at the restaurant and a three -course dinner 49 euros. Currently (June 10, 2025), the booking book of the restaurant looks good, according to Åstedt.
– It is quite full until Midsummer, but after that there is room for room.
Window without reservation
You can still book a table at the Bisoubiou restaurant without a booking fee.
If a good luck goes, you can get a window table if they are not yet booked. The free window tables of the day will be filled in the order of arrival of customers.
The restaurant is located in Kalasatama, whose metro station will be closed in the near future for a year and a half.
“This was known in advance,” says Åstedt.
He does not believe that closing the metro station will affect the operation of the restaurant.
Maiju Åstedt and Teemu Aura are also restaurants at Le Coucou Vert and Mat Distrikt restaurants.
