As young people you can have a wish for your neighborhood, but try to make it come true. Then you also have to get the municipality on board. “We organized with friends so that we could talk to someone from the municipality,” says Karim. “We went there in groups to chat and so on. To ask if there could be a Cruyff Court.”
After many discussions and meetings with both the municipality and the neighborhood, we succeeded. The municipality also became enthusiastic. But being at all those gatherings as a 13-year-old may not be the most fun thing to do. “It might have been a bit boring,” he says honestly. “But if you get to talk, that’s kind of nice.” And of course it’s great fun now that we’ve succeeded.
“It’s nice that we can play football with friends again. It will be really fun,” says Karim.
