Ahmed E. (24) threw boiling water last year over a school teacher within the walls of youth institution Den Hey-Acker in Breda. The teacher lost a tooth due to the blow with the kettle and ran very serious burns over his head and upper body.
Unhappy or not, on the 29th February last year it was not the first incident in which Ahmed E. was involved. The young man is now in the fourth youth institution and has used violence dozens of times. He was already in youth TBS in Den Hey-Acker, the so-called PIJ measure, but also in captivity he appears to continue his violent behavior.
On February 29 there was a fight in the classroom between Ahmed and a classmate. They continued to bombard each other with abusive words with cancer and pussy. The whole thing exploded when the other boy ran towards Ahmed.
Full kettle with boiling water
It was just in a corner of the local coffee and tea. With a full kettle with boiling water, he took towards his rival. Unfortunately, a teacher just jumped in between who wanted to appease things.
He got a blow with the kettle on his head and lost a tooth. And because of that blow, the boiling hot water gushed over his head and body. In his right to speak, the teacher told how much pain he had and how long he had to rehabilitate. Despite the painful burns, he wanted his former student the best. “Make better choices and accept help.”
And that help must come. No fewer than three experts were invited to give their vision. And they sometimes had that treatment for a long time and that Ahmed must get a lot of structure. And that could be done via TBS with conditions or with coercion, because the experts did not agree on that.
Violent history
Ahmed has had an extreme childhood full of mistreatment. His mother hit him and, for example, threw hot water over him when he peeed in bed as a child. Ahmed is quickly hurt, narcissistic and is struggling with impulse problems, it was heard.
According to one of the three experts, he can only be helped by imposing TBS with coercion. According to her, his violent history shows that there is nothing else to do than force him and not to impose the lighter regime of TBS with conditions.
Ahmed mainly spoke about throwing boiling water. He regrets that because he thinks the teacher is ‘a good guy’. He certainly did not do it intentionally, but waved the kettle in response to the attack of his rival. Classmates and another teacher, however, stated that Ahmed had already opened the kettle and consciously threw boiling water.
No incident
No matter how it happened, with the background of Ahmed this can no longer be seen as an incident. He will need intensive help for a long time. The public prosecutor saw strong violence against a government official. And he also saw that Ahmed is reduced imputable due to multiple personality disorders and that he has already had many serious incidents to his name.
He demanded six months in prison and much more radical: also TBS with coercion. Only in this way can society be protected against all AHMED violence, he thought. The youth TBS that Ahmed has already underwent in the past four years has hardly helped.
