Youth League, Olympiacos against Inter for the round of 16

A victory in Athens to continue the journey in the Youth League. And to confirm the excellent performance in a season which so far has seen the Primavera team coached by Cristian Chivu first in the table, with a 6 point advantage over Milan. Tomorrow afternoon at 2pm Inter will challenge Olympiacos and, in a one-off match, they will know if they can continue their adventure in Europe.

super like the first team

In 2023-24, the Nerazzurri Primavera drew a few games… too many, but on the other hand they only lost twice: once in the league and once in the Youth League. In practice Stankovic and his teammates are having the same performance as Inzaghi’s team: first in the league, in the running in Europe, out of contention in the Italian Cup. All this despite Chivu having a fairly young group that has loaned players (Stabile, Stankovic, Akinsanmiro, Kamate, Sarr…) to the first team on several occasions. The Nerazzurri finished their group in Europe in second place and for this reason they were forced into the play offs where they will challenge one of the national champion teams. Olympiacos are not an easy opponent and above all they will be played in a stadium, the Georgios Karaiskakis, with many fans, but Chivu, a coach of undoubted value destined at the end of the season to make the leap among… the greats, has confidence. The Romanian will have the full squad, with the exception of Akinsanmiro who cannot be used in Europe.

DEPARTURE AND TABOUS

Inter left for Greece this afternoon. With the Nerazzurri there are deputy sporting director Dario Baccin, youth manager Massimo Tarantino and technical coordinator Daniele Bernazzani. On the last two occasions the play-offs have not been lucky for the Nerazzurri, defeats against Zilina and against Rukh Lviv: there is a taboo to dispel and qualification for the Youth League round of 16.
