Matt Berninger’s brother is also there. The clip was shot by Bridger’s brother Jackson. When asked about working with the indie musician, The National singer told Apple Music 1: “We’re both fans of our writing style and we’ve talked about how to write and how to write about the things you do hates herself, which she’s incredibly good at. And after that I thought to myself: ‘I have to write about this’. […] When the song was done I felt like it needed a different voice or person as my wife was a big part of the inspiration and Phoebe stepped in, she was just perfect for it. And because her voice is just so delicate and warm, she added that dimension to the song that was critical to the song working.”

The two previously collaborated on Zach Galifianakis’ Between Two Ferns: The Movie in 2019. Along with two The Walkmen members, they contributed the comedy’s song “Walking on a String.”

FIRST TWO PAGES OF FRANKENSTEIN marks The National’s sixth studio album. Other guests will also be heard with Taylor Swift and Sufjan Stevens. In addition to the new release, “Tropic Morning News”, “New Order T-Shirt” and “Eucalyptus” have already been released. With the LP, the band is also coming to Germany for two concerts as part of their tour.
