Youp van ‘t Hek thinks Gordon is raving: ‘What a lot of bullshit!’

Youp van ‘t Hek understands very well that philosopher Fleur Jongepier left Op1 when Gordon was speaking. “Or do you have to swallow that three kilos of bullshit from him for another half hour?”

Gordon has caused controversy this week by downplaying human rights violations in Qatar on the talk show Op1. Fellow guest Fleur Jongepier found it so disgusting that she decided to go home and take off during his story. Very good, thinks comedian Youp van ‘t Hek.

Go home

Youp supports the philosopher today in his column in the NRC. He thinks it’s a travesty that Gordon has said that ‘everything is not too bad’ with the situation of guest workers in Qatar.

According to Gordon, we should not point this way at other countries given our own slavery past. “This raged the false singer at the EO at a talk show table, where a nice lady, who was also a guest, just left and went home,” Youp writes.

Three kilos of asshole

Very understandable, says Youp. “Immediately afterwards, the discussion was not about Gordon’s disfigured opinion, but about whether you can leave a chitchat program like Op1. Or do you have to swallow Gordon’s three kilos of bullshit for another half hour?”

Youp thinks it’s a non-discussion. “Which is worse: playing football in a slave cemetery or insulting Gordon, who is the only one who always laughs out loud at his own jokes?”
