An 18-year-old Rotterdammer was arrested Friday afternoon for involvement in a home robbery of an 80-year-old man in Veldhoven. The older man called his neighbors around a quarter to three, bloodied, and told that he had been mugged and had a fight.
In the night from Thursday to Friday, the man was robbed and assaulted in his house on the Helleberg in Veldhoven. He had to go to the hospital but has since returned home.
His car was also stolen in the robbery. On Friday afternoon around three o’clock, the police saw a sleeping man in a car on Hasseltstraat in Tilburg. It turned out to be an 18-year-old Rotterdammer.
It soon became apparent that it was the car that had been stolen during the robbery. The Rotterdammer has been arrested and it is being investigated what role he played in the robbery.
