Young people (17) beaten up in a tram without a corona mask – the police are looking for witnesses

A dispute about a missing mouth and nose cover escalated. A teenager (17) was beaten and taken to the hospital. Now the police are looking for witnesses.

Because of racist insults and collective bodily harm, the state security is now investigating and is now looking for witnesses.

A 17-year-old had informed the police on February 5 and stated that around 8:10 p.m. at the tram stop on Greifswalder Straße, three men and three women had insulted and attacked them.

That had happened

On Saturday evening, the teenager told the police that there had been a dispute between her and six adults in the M4 because they had asked her about her missing mouth and nose cover.

According to the young people who told the police, a verbal argument broke out and they were racially insulted by two women from the group. When everyone involved left the train together at the Greifswalder Straße stop, one of the three women from the group of 17-year-olds is said to have punched her face and tried to kick her several times.

When the victim managed to dodge the attacks, two men from the group held her down and two of the three women are said to have punched and kicked the girl several times. In addition, one of the women is said to have pulled out her hair. Then the three men and three women are said to have cut off in the direction of Erich-Weinert-Strasse.

The 17-year-old had made a video with her cell phone, which she showed to the police forces. One of the officers recognized one of the men from previous police operations in a bar on Greifswalder Strasse.

The three men (42, 44 and 51 years old) were found in the said pub. All were provisionally arrested. The three denied the allegations. Police officers found narcotics on the 42-year-old man. All were under the influence of alcohol, voluntary breath alcohol measurements showed a value of around 0.9 for the 42-year-old, around 0.7 for the 44-year-old and around 1.8 for the 51-year-old.

Initially, none of the men wanted to give any information about the women. The men were in police custody, and blood was drawn from the 51-year-old. Then they were released again. Investigations into the women involved are ongoing.

The 17-year-old had to be treated in a hospital, where she was admitted for observation.
