Young AZ started the smash against PEC Zwolle with a lot of self-confidence. The Blauwvingers are the leaders in the first division and Jong AZ has been at the top for weeks. A lot happened at the training complex in Wijdewormer. Not only five goals, but also a missed penalty from PEC captain Bram van Polen.

Cousin of Max Huiberts

Due to an own goal by Finn Stam, the Alkmaar talents fell behind. Yet Jong AZ recovered nicely. Maarten Martens’ team took the lead via Yusuf Barasi and Iman Griffith. Yet it was the relegated from the Eredivisie that pulled the longest straw. About twenty minutes before the end, Dean Huibert scored for PEC. The nephew of AZ’s technical director Max Huiberts thus determined the 2-3 final score.

Due to the loss, Jong AZ drops to fifth place. On Friday, the Alkmaar promises will go to Tilburg for the confrontation with Willem II.

Basic line-up Young AZ: Westerveld; Lathouwers, Goes, Stam, Engel; Koopmeiners, Buurmeester, De Jong; Griffith, Barasi, Allouch

Young Ajax won with goals from Kik Pierie, Gabriel Misehouy and Giovanni from NAC. That was striking, because the young Amsterdammers didn’t do much in the first half. The visitors from Brabant therefore deservedly led 1-0 at half-time.

Red card

After the fifteen minute break, a completely different Young Ajax stepped onto the field. That resulted in good football and three goals. Sontje Hansen did receive a direct red card after a disturbance. NAC player Sabir Agougil was also allowed to intervene in this unfriendly situation. Due to the 3-1 win, Ajax’s promises rise to seventh place in the ranking. On Friday, the team from Amsterdam will make the long journey to Maastricht for the match with MVV.

Basic setup Young Ajax: Kremers; Aertssen, Warmerdam, Pierie, Jermoumi; Delgado, Fitz-Jim, Misehouy; Hansen, Rasmussen and Van Axel Dongen
