While Claude is preparing for the Songfestival final, carilloneur Wim Ruitenbeek already let the entire center of IJmuiden enjoy the hit.
‘This song lends itself very well to the carillon’
From the tower of the town hall he played C’est La Vie, the song with which Claude is in the final on Saturday evening. “This song lends itself very well to the carillon. It is cheerful and immediately lingers,” says Ruitenbeek.
The carillon of the IJmuiden town hall consists of dozens of clocks, cast in 1965. Ruitenbeek can remove any desired song from the instrument with the correct adjustment of the clocks and the right sheet music.
