With his trivializing statements about the report against Marco Borsato, Ruud de Wild arouses quite a bit of resentment among juice queen Yvonne Coldeweijer. “You have two beautiful daughters of your own!”
It is unclear what exactly is behind it, but for some reason Ruud de Wild has a very strong need to step into the breach for every Dutch celebrity who is discredited. The exact allegations do not seem to matter to the NPO Radio 2 star, even if a 15-year-old girl may have been abused.
Angry or confused
Barely a year and a half ago, Marco Borsato was accused of this sexual offense. A report has been filed against him, but the Public Prosecution Service has not yet taken a decision to prosecute. However, according to renowned crime journalist John van den Heuvel, there is so much evidence that prosecution is likely.
John is very annoyed that Ruud seizes every opportunity to defend discredited celebrities such as Marco, Ali B and Thijs Römer. This time the radio DJ questions the story of Marco’s alleged victim. According to him, it may just be an angry or confused girl.
Yvonne angry
Yvonne Coldeweijer thinks it’s ridiculous, she writes on her juice channel. “I find it so shocking that Ruud de Wild continues to make statements like this, while his girlfriend Olcay is always so committed to women’s rights,” she says, referring to her position as UN Women’s ambassador.
What does Yvonne think is behind it? “I understand you somehow, Ruud. Sometimes false reports are made. Maybe you’re afraid that someone will do the same to you one day, because you don’t really know what you’ve been up to in your life. I can imagine that fear, but it is most likely not justified.”
Father figure
It is not done to dismiss the story of Marco’s informant as implausible, Yvonne thinks. “This girl was 15 at the time and Marco was almost 50. He often visited there and acted as a father figure, because her own father passed away. He has abused this bond of trust.”
To Ruud: “Perhaps you can read the interview that John van den Heuvel did with her again. John has seen and heard evidence and is terrified. Perhaps Olcay will look it up for you.”
Two daughters
Yvonne thinks that Ruud should be more reserved. “Of course it is up to the judge to decide in the end. But can you also imagine that this story is true, Ruud?
She concludes: “There is a diary, there are de-audition witnesses and audio tapes. You have two beautiful daughters of your own. Can you imagine?”
